Rewiring

Rewiring proposes a low-tech and high-care clinic in Moghegno where care is produced not through technological complexity, but through architecture’s conditions including warmth, light, air, material, proximity, and human presence. Working within the existing grotti, the project treats their thick stone walls, thermal mass, topography, and fragmented spatial character as active components of healing rather than obstacles to modernization. New interventions remain deliberately minimal, tactile, and repairable. The project argues that healthcare architecture does not need to become more clinical to provide better care; instead, it can recover low-tech environmental intelligence and transform the existing borgo into an intimate infrastructure of collective care.
