Counterflow

Located in Lodano, Switzerland, the project proposes a cooperative winery for the small, dispersed vineyards of Vallemaggia, bringing growers, harvests, and village life into a shared infrastructure. Embedded within the landscape, the winery is shaped by two opposing journeys: wine follows gravity downward through production, while visitors move upward in reverse, tracing the process from its final state back to its origin. Through this counterflow, the building transforms winemaking into a spatial narrative—connecting individual cultivation to collective production, and architecture to the relationships already rooted in the landscape.
